Training in China

The follwing is a rough guide only. Each student will learn at a different rate depending on his/her initial skill level and dedication.

Short Term Study (1 week - 3 Months)

  1.   Shaolin Kung fu History and theory
  2.   Basic punching and kicking with flexibility training
  3.   Shaolin fist forms and basic weapons such as the staff, whip, sword or broadsword
  4.   basic Chinese conversation.

  3.   indepth study of Qi Gong and Tai Ji
  4.   Shaolin fist forms including paired practice and the option of learning an animal form,
  5.   Chinese kick boxing with two person sparring
  6.   advanced weapons such as spear, double spear, two-section staff, three-section staff, double sticks, double canes (tonfa)
  7.   basic Chinese conversation.

Long term study (one year )

  1.   Shaolin Kung fu History and theory
  2.   Basic punching and kicking with flexibility training
  3.   Advanced study of Qi Gong and Tai Ji
  4.   Shaolin fist forms including advanced forms such as tiger, leopard, monkey, snake, crane, mantis, eagle and drunken boxing.
  5.   Advanced weapon paired practice and advanced weapon forms such as double broadsword, monkey staff, double hooks, druken sword, bull whip, southern staff, southern sword and double chain whip
  6.   Chinese language

Tuition and fees

  1.   Application fee: £50 (not refundable)
  2.   Weekly Fees (including tuition, accommodation and food) £300
  3.   Monthly Fees £900
The fees do not including air fare, travel fare, insurance and visa fees and personal expenses in China

  1. 5:30 - 6:30   Running and Morning Warming Up

  3. 8:30 - 11:30   Chinese Language Study
  4. 12:00   Lunch
  5. 2:30 - 4:00   Kung Fu Training
  6. 6:00   Dinner
  7. 7:30 – 8:30   Evening Kung Fu Training

Chinese Kung fu rules of conduct

  11. 11. Do not be influenced by worldly possessions

  13. 13. Do not refuse to pay any public or private obligations
  14. 14. Do not indulge in alcohol and lust
  15. 15. Do not obstruct public or personal efforts
  16. 16. Do not hunger for power and position
  17. 17. Do not betray your country or be a traiter
  18. 18. Do not neglect your training by not practicing
